Time is Money

By John Hollyman28 Feb 2017

Variations on the theme of “I don’t have enough time” are a common complaint from people in all walks of life, closely followed by “I don’t have enough money”.

Whether we are talking about time or money, there is a finite amount to be spent, and an infinite number of possible ways to spend it!

In both cases the answer is simply one of priorities. This is obvious with time, we all get the same 24 hours each day, 168 hours each week and must choose to devote them to the things that we think are the most valuable. Similarly with money, we should be devoting our resources to the things that are most important to us and the people we care the most about.

To make the most of both our time and our money a plan is essential. Determining the things that you really want to achieve and devoting the resources necessary to achieve them is the best way to make sure they actually happen. Without a plan it is too easy to fritter away both time and money on short term comforts without making progress towards your most important goals.

Getting the balance right between time and money spent enjoying life in the short term and taking care of the really important stuff is the key. Done well, you will find you have both more time and money than before you had a plan, you will make significant progress towards the things that are really important to you AND have the time and money to enjoy life in the here and now.

Sounds like a good investment to me.
